This fish was just shy of 43 lbs, a world record fish if we were fishing IGFA standards..
Its been a great season so far and there are a ton of big fish around. Finally getting caught up on doing a post while our first hard front of the year blows through. We are getting temps down in the 40’s at night which will drive even more big fish into the marsh. Over the past couple weeks the fish have started to transition a bit from the outside areas of the marsh into some of the protected ponds. This is what we have been waiting for and with this cold front it will get even better. we have been catching a ton of fish in the low to mid 20# range and a good number if fish in the 30-40# range with the biggest so far just over 42 lbs. We have been getting a lot of shots at…..
singles and also been getting shots at schools of fish like this….
The fish have been super aggressive and eating most flies put in their way including some monster poppers!! You have to love this time of the year… the marsh is starting to change color, the big fish are everywhere, and we get to go out and fish for them!!! Doesn’t get much better then that…
