After the coldest winter on record since 1982, the Louisiana marsh is thriving and the fly fishing for red fish has been incredible!! The cold weather has dropped the water temps at times close to freezing but as the fronts move through and the water warms up the red fish pile onto the flats floating high in the water making for great sight fishing opportunities for fly fisher’s from all over the world. People always have the miss conception that the best time to come to Louisiana and fly fish for big red fish in the fall and early winter… the reality is that we have great sight fishing opportunities year round and even during our coldest months. Louisiana fly fishing is on fire!!
